Panel discussion on the 35th anniversary of the MIMART Theatre

Founded in 1984 in Belgrade, the MIMART Theatre is one of the first alternative theatres in ex-Yugoslavia. Nela Antonović, the founder, manager and director at the MIMART Theatre, holding an MSc degree in technical sciences, uses trans-media procedure to research with her associates the new codes through an open process. The theatre focuses on the societal phenomena, since the contemporariness is determined by phenomena: geo-political, social, economic, technological, environmental, media, communicative and cultural. In the era of a general tendency towards visualisation and spectacle as a model of social and cultural life, the MIMART Theatre discreetly seeks the meaning of contemporary art and potentials of performance art as a means of communication and change.
