Born in Novi Sad, in 1956. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Department of Theatre and Film Direction, in 1980. He has received federal and republic recognitions for the plays: Judas of Iscariot, A House at the Border and The Next for Paradise. Other important productions include: Mario and the Magician, Happy Prince, Macbeth, A Tomb for Boris Davidovich.
He has published eight books of prose/fiction: Stone in Wheat (1993), Night of St Nicolas (1994), Horg (1997), Wings (1999), Petrified Prayers (2001, shortlisted for the NIN Novel of Year Award), The Guardians of the Springs (2009), Lina Shash (2010) and Dragon (2012).
On the occasion of 150th anniversary of the Serbian National Theatre, Milan Belegišanin prepared the book ‘The Whispering of Life’, dedicated to stage whisperer Marija Maca Kljajić (2012).
He works as a director in the Documentary-Educational Department of TV Novi Sad, where he has realised the following programmes: ‘The
Dreams of Weedy Towers, A Trumpet Sings Somewhere, A Secret near the Town as well as the TV drama The Night of Decision.
He has received numerous awards for his film and TV works, for documentary films (produced or coproduced by Television Novi Sad): Cry
(1992), The Whispering of Life (1993), All Gojkos’ Treasures (2004) and Swallow (2008).
For his oeuvres Milan Belegišanin was awarded the Slavuj Hadžić prize in 2009.
Born in 1982. She graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, Department of Dramaturgy, in 2005. She received her PhD from the University of Arts in Belgrade, in the interdisciplinary scientific field Theory of Arts and Media, with the thesis History, Nation, Hollywood: Film Musical. Her radio dramas Drowned Souls (2003), Link (2004) and Bristled Angry Dragon (2006) were aired on Radio Belgrade. The full-length plays A Groat and Half and Four Aces, as well as the theoretical piece Provocation of the Audience have been published in theatrical journals Teatron and Scena. She has collaborated, as a dramaturge, with Siniša Kovačević on the National Theatre’s production Hares’ Dike. She has taken part in the 38th Bitef as the youngest member of the jury in 2004. She is one of the hundred students who received the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia scholarship for professional practical training in the countries of the European Union in 2006. She did the practical training as a dramaturge at the Kinemastik studio in Malta. In 2007, she received the special award at the Austrian Drama Competition for the play The Hyperbolic Paraboloid. The play saw its premier at the Kraljevo Theatre in 2011, directed by Boris Todorović. She is the author of the short film Edina directed by Nenad Miković, which was awarded for Artistic Impression at the Festival of Short Film in Krakow in 2007. In March 2012 her play Sokin and Bosina premiered at the Cultural Centre Čukarica, directed by Jug Radivojević. She currently works as an assistant at the Faculty of Stage and Film Art Slobomir P of the University of Bijeljina.
Born in 1976. He gained his professional education in dance and choreography studying on a scholarship from the Laban Centre (Dance Academy) in London.
As a performer, choreographer and director he has received several international scholarships from the Ministry of Culture of Serbia, Soros Foundation (Belgrade), Dance Web Programme (Vienna), Dance Omi Programme (USA), Odyssey Dance Theatre Programme (Singapore).
Among the successful collaborations he has established are those with choreographer Ana Sanchez Colberg (London), Kitt Johnson (Copenhagen), Liz King (Vienna), Danny Tan (Singapore), Mikhail Honesseau (Berlin), Pina Bausch (London), Filippo Armati (Locarno), Sonja Vukićević (Beograd).
He has furthered his choreographic knowledge with well-know pedagogues such as Susan Linke, Jonathan Burrows, Christine Kono (long time
pedagogue with the Pina Bausch troupe), Vera Mantero, Ko Murobushi, etc.
His works have been presented at festivals in New York, Edinburgh, London, Vienna, Istanbul, Singapore, Stockholm, Graz, Belgrade, Zagreb, Skopje, Novi Sad, etc.
He specialises in the domain of solo dance form inspired by German Tanztheater and Japanese butoh dance.
