Archetypal spaces – without measurements, without typology, without style – are deeply imbedded in our psyche. Images of such spaces are elements of imaginary architecture which, free from concreteness, permeates the real architecture and reality. The exploration of the unconscious layers, somewhat similar to a psycho-analytic session, reveals a personal, inner architecture and the relationship we develop with the world and our times.
The ‘Inside’ project resulted from the work of the students on the first year of PhD studies in the Department of Architecture and Urbanism of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, within the subject ‘Creative Explorations in Architecture and Urbanism’. During several workshops, the participants explored their inner archetypal spaces and their relationships with the actual spaces in everyday life.
