Main aim of site-specific project “The Backyard” is to actualize the problem of the city Cultural Centre’s open stage that exists in the backyard of the building, situated in the old core of the city. This aim is realised through two-phase workshop with students of architecture, based on the idea of revitalisation of this specific space during 39th Infant. Under the term – revitalisation – we understand an adequate spatial solution, ephemeral by its nature, which will be designed and constructed by all the project’s participants for the purposes of the Infant festival. In addition, it includes the development of a possible alternative programme that will take place in this space during the Festival, thus turning the Cultural Centre’s Summer stage into a Meeting point between the Festival and the City.
