BODY BEHAVIOUR IN EXTREME SITUATIONS
workshop
Led by: Efrat Stempler, Israel
Number of participants: 15 (dancers, actors, stage performers who use their bodies as an expressive means)
What happens to us when we are under pressure in a certain situation where our chances of survival are very small? How our own body acts, reacts, moves?
What does a person do when they are in the same room with a ticking bomb? How does our own body express itself in such a situation? What happens between people who happen to share such an experience?
The workshop explores physical reactions and/or impulses created by our body in a special situation, usually under pressure. Based on such impulses, a certain physical language develops further, followed by a short choreography/physical staging. Individual improvisation and group work is used in the exploration of movement and textual materials.
