Alice in WonderBand
Since 1998 the Dinjaschwillovs family - Marko, Ana and their two children, Vid and Alisa - have been living in Stražilovo in the Fruška Gora National Park. Besides music, as a basic artistic expression, they are involved with clothes and jewellery design, visual arts, and poetry writing, while Marko is also engaged in engraving. They live a healthy lifestyle, maintain their estate, do yoga, and grow medicinal herbs. They gather the authors who are willing to cooperate and all people of good faith and intentions.
Aware of their origin, but also open to the exploration of other musical traditions, they build a unique musical expression through merging and interlacing all these elements. They have a need to treat music without prejudices and determinants. Their current repertoire has been created through free session technique, where each number evolved from a certain musical theme, supported by text as an editing factor. Therefore it is difficult to define the style of the music because there are recognisable ethno and world music influences – but also art – rock, jazz, blues, new wave, electro influences as well. Perhaps the term progressive music describes best the direction this music group is taking. Their tendency to create a theatrical atmosphere in their concerts, as well as their cooperation with the artists from the field of choreography and contemporary dance, video and painting, also contribute to the uniqueness of their expression. The music is treated as a medium, which enables a synthesis of all these means of expression.
